The Big Apple Makes for a Sweet Summertime Honeymoon

| March 28th, 2012 | No Comments »

Planning a summer honeymoon that’s jam packed with romance, adventure and uptown fun isn’t as difficult as it sounds. Just take a bite out of the Big Apple for a trip that’s sure to be sweet.

New York City is a great destination for honeymooners no matter the season. The summertime, however, offers some distinct opportunities that make this particular locale especially worth exploring for couples in love.

Here are just a few of the things you can do in the Big Apple in the summer:

  • Go park hopping – Central Park and the city’s many other public green spaces are especially beautiful in the summertime. For a supreme romantic touch, go on a horse-drawn carriage tour of the Central Park area.
  • Hit the beach – While it’s not necessarily famed for its beaches, New York City does have more than a few. If it’s time to cool off and see the ocean, head over to Brighton Beach and Coney Island or Pelham Bay Park. Both offer excellent opportunities to experience the Atlantic and beat the New York summertime heat.
  • Visit the museums – If museums are a passion, you won’t be disappointed in New York City. Perhaps Paris is the only place in the world that comes close to rivaling the Big Apple. Some of the possibilities include the American Folk Art Museum, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, the Forbes Galleries and the world famous Metropolitan Museum of Art. Just to be sure, the city has dozens and dozens of other museums.
  • Check out the street fairs – New York City is famous for its summertime street fairs. Check out live artistic performances, buy hot dogs from a cart and even shop to your heart’s content during these seasonal affairs.
  • Take in a Broadway show – Dolling up for a night on Broadway is a honeymoon adventure couples are not likely to forget. If taking in a show does sound like a plan, be sure to book early.
  • Travel the world culinary style – If you and your sweetie love exotic cuisine, New York is the place to be. You can literally “travel” the world by visiting some of this city’s more famous establishments.
  • Take in the lights at night – Perhaps one of the most amazing and romantic aspects of New York City is the nighttime skyline. Go for a stroll on Broadway or take a walk down Fifth Avenue to enjoy some sights that will truly stun.

New York City offers high adventure and plenty of things for honeymooners to do. To find the best places to stay and make sure every detail is attended to, contact one of our honeymoon experts today!

3 Reasons to Plan a Second Honeymoon after Renewing Your Vows

| March 9th, 2012 | No Comments »

There are few things more romantic in this world than a couple in love deciding to reaffirm wedding vows. Whether it’s after five years or 50, standing up in front of family and friends to say that today’s love is as strong as or even stronger than that initial bond is something special and something worth celebrating.

Planning a wedding vow renewal, however, is often a lot of work and worry. While the memories will last a lifetime and make everything especially worthwhile, the chance to take a second honeymoon is one not to pass up on.

So, why should couples seriously consider that second honeymoon to cap off a renewal ceremony? Here are three reasons why a getaway is in order after saying “I do” yet again:

  • The pressure isn’t as high – Honeymoons are spectacular ways for young couples to celebrate their new bonds, but let’s face it: they can be stressful. That very first trip as husband and wife can be fraught with anxiety and worry for some. Taking a second honeymoon after a few years or even decades of marriage, however, sort of gives a chance for a “do over.” The romance and fun is still there, but the nervousness is now a thing of the past. This means couples can just relax and enjoy!
  • The destinations are more open – Young couples often cannot afford the destinations of their dreams. After a few years of marriage, working and saving, however, the world opens up a little more readily. This means if a first honeymoon wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, the second can be practically perfect in every way!
  • It’s just fun – Finding time to just be a couple can be tough after a few years of marriage. Children, careers and everyday life often gets in the way of unplugging and just enjoying each other. A vow renewal ceremony provides the perfect “excuse” to sneak away for a romantic trip just for two. The timing couldn’t be more perfect!

The vow renewal ceremony is only half the fun. When you want to reaffirm your love and commitment to your sweetheart, capping it off with a second honeymoon just makes adds icing to the cake. To ensure the trip of your dreams – without all the stress – consider working with our travel experts that specialize in anniversary and honeymoon trips. You won’t be disappointed if you do!

An amazing experience

| March 1st, 2012 | No Comments »

Anyway, we had THE MOST AMAZING TIME. El Dorado was just gorgeous, the food was unbelievable, service was out of this world and our room was nicer then anything we’d ever experience or probably ever will again! The regular room we stayed in for the first night was very nice, but then they upgraded us to the Casitas, and WOW! Just spectacular.  I can’t say one bad thing about it the whole experience.

Beyond the beautiful resort, one of the other things I really appreciated was how transportation to and from the airport was pre-arranged and waiting for us.  Once we arrived in Cancun, it was a little intimidating walking through the gauntlet of time shares and people approaching us for hotels, shuttles, excursions, etc.  But we when straight to our shuttle company, they were waiting for us and whisked us away to the resort!

The Mayan Ruins excursions was really cool and interesting, but it was a REAL long day.  We were happy to return to the plush amenities of the resort after a long 12 hr day!

Really just an amazing experience all around!! I can’t thank you enough for everything.  As you know I’ve recommended you to all my clients and will continue to do so even more since I now have first hand experience of how stress free and convenience you made our honey moon!   My parents are planning to contacting you to plan a trip for their 40th wedding anniversary too!

Thanks again, Laura

Loved the open house!

| March 1st, 2012 | No Comments »

I recently attended an open house at Bliss Honeymoon and it was GREAT!

Laura and Bernadine were very welcoming and friendly.  They also had a great presentation that provided very helpful information.  The best thing was that it was all FREE!  It seems like everyone that I have come across in the planning of my wedding immediately sees $$$ dollar signs $$$ …so it was great that the open house was free and there was no obligation!!!  I would recommend it to anyone planning a romantic trip.  You will not regret it.

Boutique Hotels Make A Bahamas Honeymoon More Blissful

| February 20th, 2012 | No Comments »

Giant, high-end hotels with lots of hustle and bustle are fine for some trips, but they don’t necessarily jive with romantic, intimate honeymoon getaways. If you’re heading to the Bahamas to celebrate your union, there are some incredible boutique hotels that are likely to fit your mood a whole lot better.

Just because a hotel is smaller, doesn’t mean it isn’t worth your attention either. Smaller, boutique hotels tend to cater to those who want privacy and impeccable service rolled into one. While they might only have a handful of rooms, the best boutique hotels make sure their staff members are trained to deliver only the best in service.

Since you’re planning a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon adventure, privacy and service likely matter a great deal. If so, here are some smaller hotels in the Bahamas that are well worth the stay:

  • Pink Sands – Located on Harbour Island, this getaway destination features 18 private acres surrounded by, of course, pink sand. Guests here have their pick of one of 25 secluded, private cottages that are loaded with modern amenities. The resort has its own onsite dining, a swimming pool, laundry service and more. It’s the perfect destination for honeymooning couples who want the best in service with a lot of privacy mixed in.
  • Kamalame Cay – Found in Andros, this 96-acre, private resort offers guests the very best in everything. The resort is only accessible by a private ferry and features lots of beach front property, tennis, a swimming pool and onsite dining. There’s even a tiki bar for those who want to enjoy drinks as the sun sets over the beach.
  • Rock House – This small resort was originally built in the 1940s and has been a hit with travelers ever since. It features nine rooms in total, so privacy shouldn’t be a concern. Although it’s small, the Rock House is huge when it comes to amenities. The hotel features its own private beach, a swimming pool, onsite restaurant and much more. Guests here can even enjoy wireless Internet access and a full gym.

When it’s time to honeymoon, it’s nice to enjoy a little privacy. While large resorts are always a great choice, sometimes the smaller boutique destinations just fit the mood a whole lot better. After all, what could be more romantic than relaxing on a secluded beach in the Bahamas without a big crowd to get in the way?

Giddy Up with one of our Dude Ranch Honeymoons!

| February 12th, 2012 | No Comments »

Honeymoons don’t have to take place in Paris or on remote islands in the middle of nowhere to be special. If you’re looking for romantic adventure that doesn’t require a passport, there are some great options just a little closer to home. Luxury dude ranches deliver an amazing alternative for couples who want to do something that’s just a little different, but still incredibly romantic.

Chances are you’re thinking what the heck is romantic about a dude ranch, right? Take a closer look at some of the options right here in America’s west and it becomes clear this is an outstanding choice for couples who want to mix some serious fun with their romance.

From golfing under the big Texas sky to relaxing in the on-site spa, luxury is not overlooked here. Since it’s a “dude ranch,” visitors can also enjoy time in the Equestrian Center where they can take out horses for trail rides on the resort’s extensive property. Imagine taking a romantic ride to watch the sun set over the mountains before retiring to a private luxury room that features “cowboy chic” décor.
  • C Lazy U Guest Ranch & Resort – Tucked away in the mountains of Colorado, this destination is one that’s ideal for honeymooners. It features not only amazing views and fantastic trail rides for horse enthusiasts, but also private cabins honeymooners can retreat to at the end of the day. Privacy is not an issue here – nor is enjoying a little pampering. With an onsite spa and gourmet dining, guests are invited to kick back and simply enjoy the atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a honeymoon that won’t require a passport or an eight-hour plane ride overseas, consider the amazing possibilities a little closer to home.
