Here is Bliss Honeymoons & Destination Weddings “Top 10” things to consider.
1. Guest List – who do you plan to invite? This may make a difference in the type of resort you choose: Family friendly or adult only.
2. When do you plan on traveling? The time of year will affect the price: Ideal weather is often high season with better rates offered in the low season.
3. Where would you like to go for your destination wedding? Some destinations require more travel time than others. The location could affect some that can only get away for a long weekend.
4. Do you plan on taking a honeymoon after the wedding? If you can extend your time after the wedding it doesn’t have to be at the same resort or even the same destination.
5. What is your budget? This is often the hardest question to answer. Consider what you are comfortable asking your guests to pay and how much you would like to spend on the ceremony and your own trip package.
6. What type of resort would work best for you and your guests? Many couples choose all-inclusive resorts because it’s easier to let their guests know how much the trip will cost.
7. Trust the resort wedding planners! Destination weddings can be so easy. The wedding planner at the resort will meet with you upon arrival to confirm your flower, cake and other options. Very little time has to be spent in advance of your arrival to produce a beautiful wedding.
8. Is your family behind your decision to have a destination wedding? It’s better to talk about this in the beginning,
9. Don’t be upset if some of the people on your guest list cannot join you due to time or money constraints. Understand that while this is a very exciting time for you, some of your friends may not have the resources to join you. Most couples have a reception back at home to celebrate with those who do not attend the wedding.
10. Use a trained travel professional to coordinate your destination wedding. Choosing a location, resort & wedding package requires a bit of research and coordination, not to mention the assistance we give in arranging travel for your friends and family.
