HONEYMOON PACKING TIPS!

Honeymoon attire-what not to wear!

One of the questions we get asked rather frequently here at Bliss Honeymoons, is “what should I wear on my honeymoon?” Many of the resorts have dress codes that aren’t always easy to understand. Here’s a couple of packing tips that may make your trip more enjoyable.

If you’re heading for a beach destination, be prepared for some humidity. Clothing that is tight or heavy will become uncomfortable very quickly. Loose fitting, lighter weight fabrics will make your stay in the tropics more enjoyable.

Even in a beach destination, the evenings can be downright cool. So bring things that you can layer easily. You’ll find that many of the restaurants are down-right frigid at dinner time from the air conditioning going full blast all day long. So bringing a sweater or wrap along will help keep you more comfortable.

Pack some dress clothes! While it may seem odd to pack dress clothes to hang out on the beach all week, many of the resort’s better restaurants require men to wear pants, ties, jackets, etc at dinner. We recently had a groom who went to a 5 star resort for the week without a single pair of pants! He and his new bride missed out on being able to enjoy the resort’s better restaurants because the hotel wouldn’t make an exception to the dress code. They had to dine alfresco by the beach all week long.

While checked luggage fees continue to increase, having a few extra options in your suitcase, from casual to dressy, will allow you to explore everything that your honeymoon destination has to offer. You can download our handy packing checklist here!
