Our Favorite Romantic Honeymoon and Anniversary Destinations for 2019!
Milan, Budapest, Munich, Prague, Sicily
In the spring of 2018, I went to a travel trade show in Milan, Italy followed by a quick solo trip to Budapest. The highlight here was relaxing in the thermal baths and ice skating outside of Vajdahunyad Castle. Highlights of a Europe trip in the fall of 2018 were Oktoberfest in Munich, Cortina d’Ampezzo for hiking in Italy, Ciccheti in Venice, one of the best art museums I’ve seen in Vienna, and the fun cave bars in the beautiful city of Prague.
I was really excited to work with a couple again after planning their honeymoon a few years ago. This time, they were looking into a trip to Italy for them and their parents. They were interested in exploring Sicily since they have quite a bit of Sicilian heritage but didn’t want to pack and re-pack too many times during their stay. We ended up finding a private yacht charter to cruise around Sicily for 1 week. They will have their own captain and chef on board, and they get to plan out their own itinerary. I am super jealous!
- Budapest: thermal baths, ice skating outside of Vajdahunyad Castle
- Munich: Oktoberfest
- Prague: fun cave bars in the beautiful city
- Sicily: private yacht charter, personal captain and chef on board
Dubai, the Maldives
This year I worked on a lot of amazing trips. This was one of my favorites. Lexy and Brett spent the first three nights of their honeymoon in Dubai before heading to the Maldives for a week. In Dubai they did a city tour and had tickets to the observation deck at the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Their last night in Dubai was doing a Sundowner Safari in the desert where they did dune buggy rides, rode camels, and then sat down to enjoy a bonfire and dinner at a Bedouin-style camp complete with falcons and belly dancers.
The couple then flew to the Maldives’ international airport where they boarded a seaplane for the one hour flight to their resort’s island. At the resort, they split their stay between a beach villa with private pool and then an overwater bungalow with private pool. There the couple were able to simply relax and enjoy the white sands and the clear water of the Indian Ocean.

I spent about a little less than a week in Rome, exploring the city to see things like the Trevi Fountain and the Coliseum, beautiful parks in the surrounding area, and lots of great food. From there I flew to Croatia, where I rented a car and drove from Split to Dubrovnik, stopping in smalls towns along the way to hike and relax. My two favorite parts of Croatia were hiking in Krka National Park, north of Split, and hiking up a mountain in the small town of Omís.

Mexico, Costa Rica, Florence, Venice
Lindsay and I visited Mexico in December 2018. We both absolutely loved Hotel Xcaret, which exudes traditional Mayan culture through stunning architecture and authentic artisan decor. The grounds are lush with local flora, the property boasts a man made river where guests can go kayaking, and the property features a gorgeous rooftop pool in the adults only Casa Fuego.
I will be visiting Costa Rica in February on a family trip celebrating my dad’s 60th birthday! We plan to explore Manuel Antonio National Park, go hiking in Arenal Volcano National Park, and stay in a three-story “tree house” near Pan Dulce Beach.
My favorite trip I have planned this year is a girl’s trip to Italy for my mom and her three sisters. Unfortunately, we lost my uncle last year to Multiple Sclerosis and they asked me to plan a trip in his memory. They will be flying into Rome for three nights, where they will visit the Vatican, take a day trip out to the Roman Hills, and then the Amalfi Coast where they will be staying at a beautiful five star property built into the cliffs and will take a day trip to explore the island of Capri. Then they will take the train to Florence where they will visit Uffizi and Academia, take a couple day trips into the Tuscan countryside, and head to Cinque Terre for one day. Next, they will stay in Venice for three nights where they will explore the Venetian market in the morning and cook an authentic lunch in the afternoon. They will also explore the Valdobbiadene Region where they will experience a Prosecco tasting.

Portugal, Spain, Greece, Bali
This year, I planned several combo trips to both Italy and Greece. Many honeymooners are spending the first few days of their honeymoon in Rome and/or Florence and then grabbing a non-stop flight to Athens, eventually ending their stay in the islands. I also planned several amazing trips to Bali.
2018 was an amazing year at Bliss Honeymoons! We planned countless honeymoons, destination weddings, and romantic getaways. Our agents also took some amazing trips this year.
