Real brides, real reviews: Royalton St. Lucia resort
We had overall a fantastic time!! We really enjoyed our honeymoon and relaxed!!
The Royalton was a good choice, although they are still working out some things with it being new and all. However the staff always made their best efforts to resolve….
Starting with the airport…when we found our driver all was good. It took about 1.5 hours to get to the resort, quite the ride, but nice views.
Once we arrived, they were already expecting us, and once we told them our name they put us in a golf cart and took us to the Diamond Club reception area (although I would have liked to see the main lobby first as the view from there is quite impressive.) When we arrived to the Diamond Club we were greeted by I believe her name was Jasmine, and she was great! The ladies all congratulated us and welcomed us to the resort. We were upgraded to the presidential suite which was a lovely surprise. The process was quick and easy. They placed our bracelets on and off we went to our room, escorted by our personal butler Jameel who had fixed up the room for us with all sorts of items from champagne to crackers and cheese and a lovely swan heart made of towels on our bed. Really cute!
We dined at the Score sports bar that night and it was totally empty! However the food was pretty good. We would have probably gone back if we had more days. We also dined at Calypso where we had an hour wait for our food! It was pretty upsetting however the food was good. We tried Armadillo (tex-mex/bbq) and were not impressed…food was meh. My favorite was the steakhouse Hunter!! Delicious!! We did have a couple of tables around us though that were experiencing delayed meals though like we had at Calypso. Was a bit awkward.
We had breakfast at the buffet Gourmet Marche, which was fine, just odd that they sit Diamond Club guests the furthest away from the buffet…we would think sitting closer would be the benefit. We also used the in-room dining, it was cool that you could order from your TV.
We hung out at the Diamond Club pool and really liked how it was a smaller group of people there and more chair availability. The Dips swim up pool bar was experiencing issues and was not open so everyone crowded on the main pool closest to the ocean where the other swim up bar was. We rented a cabana one day and absolutely loved that! The hotel did not appear to be filled to capacity so there were other pools we hung out at with less people and it was wonderful. We also noticed that the Hideaway is not that hidden, it is very visible. It is simply another building in the U shaped resort the only thing that separates it is a small sign that says for Hideaway guests only. So they get 1 pool/bar/restaurant all to themselves…not really all that impressive.
There were barely any children there, the kids pool was pretty empty while we visited. Overall, we had a fantastic stay, and will always remember our honeymoon at the Royalton St. Lucia.
Thanks Lindsay Barrie!
